Bright Yellow SUV: Putting Real Growth on Autopilot
Seattle Study Club Vice President of Network Growth and Membership, Greg Tice, will lead an exploration into seven concepts we can use to put our growth and change on autopilot. We’ve all been to wonderful practice management lectures—probably more than our fair share. Yet when we go back to the office on Monday, life gets in the way and all the great ideas we gleaned from the lecture fly right out the window. We need to focus on creating a change in behavior and proficiency, not on education. We learn many things, yet we assimilate and use very few of them. We’ll talk about filtering out unnecessary information so the important stuff gets through, creating an ongoing growth mindset, and how to navigate all of this when current beliefs clash with new evidence and ideas. The session closes with an opportunity to put these concepts into practice and learn from each other in an interactive workshop.
Objectives:
Understand and apply the basic elements of creating an ongoing growth mindset.
Understand and take advantage of the principles behind interactive education.

Collaborative Debate: Clear Aligners vs. Conventional Orthodontics
Whether in the sandbox or on the tee, a golfer knows which club to select from their bag. In this battle of the clasts vs. the blasts, our experts will investigate which treatment choice to select out of the bag when considering ortho for a patient. With technological advances, seamless digital workflow, and patient acceptance, clear aligners are quickly becoming the treatment of choice. However, fixed appliances offer a truly comprehensive approach to esthetic and functional design. Understanding types of tooth movements and occlusal schemes allows the clinician to align the right ortho option with the right dilemma, without sacrificing overall care.
Objectives:
Learn the types of movements that require fixed appliances.
Understand the flexibility of fixed appliances in interdisciplinary cases.
Visualize the three-dimensional control that fixed appliances give the clinician.
Understand the types of tooth movements and occlusal schemes in which clear aligners are effective.
Recognize how the use of clear aligners and the digital platform can impact diagnosis, treatment planning, and the overall quality of care and oral health for patients.

Problem and Pearls Workshop
Research shows adults who have been out of the traditional classroom for years are typically “problem-centered” learners. From the mundane to the challenging, we strategize and make decisions about dilemmas with which we are faced on a daily basis. For this reason, problem-solving sessions are a natural fit for a study club session because they allow adults to collaborate with colleagues in a way in which they are already familiar. For this session we will ask each member to bring 1 problem and 1 clinical/practice tip with them. “Problems” can be scheduling issues, clinical issues, communication issues, really anything that you struggle with at the office. “Pearls” can be any product specific tip that works well in your hands, a type of procedural pearl, a preparation for a restoration you find saves time, no matter how simplistic or complex. Also, a practice tip or trick that could be helpful to another individual (e.g., what makes their practice unique, inter-office communication forms, scheduling protocol, sterilization, or inventory tips, etc.) is valuable to your peers. Offering tips and/or tricks for both clinical and non- clinical areas have incredible value. All the members will be broken into small groups, and will be able to get advice, feedback and solutions that you will be able to take back to the office and implement the next day.
Objectives:
Understand the root cause of the problem.
Collaborate to generate a range of effective solutions.

Decision Making Process to Achieve the Optimum Gingival Design in the Esthetic Zone
This session will illustrate management of gingival levels through a case presentation. Discussion will address the options and the decision process leading to the final interdisciplinary treatment. It will be a direct continuation of the systematic esthetic checklist we routinely advocate for— simplicity and predictability. In addition, we’ll talk about ceramic restoration, deciding on minimally invasive dentistry or not, and how it all pertains to the most appropriate treatment for the patient.
Objectives:
Choose between crown lengthening and orthodontic intrusion.
Understand the impact of minimally invasive dentistry on the final interdisciplinary treatment.

Comprehensive Management Strategies for Complex Anterior Tooth Loss
In this captivating treatment planning session, study club members will confront the consequences of losing multiple maxillary anterior teeth. The premise here is that bone and soft tissue loss are generally more significant in these situations when compared to most single tooth loss scenarios. Dr Sharifi will share a trauma case with multiple tooth loss, in which many potential solutions can be explored, related to the risks and benefits of each treatment pathway.
Objectives:
Apply the principles learned in successfully treating this case to benefit other patients.
Understand the risks and benefits of fixed and removable implant-supported solutions for multiple missing teeth.
Recognize the advantages of staging treatment for both clinical and financial case management.
Identify techniques benefiting the treating clinician in gathering data in more challenging anterior cases.

Esthetic Implant Therapy: A Prosthodontic Approach to a Biologic Challenge
The world of implant dentistry has evolved, with patients now expecting implants to look like natural teeth, not knowing the complexities of how that occurs. Join Dr Jonathan Esquivel, a world-renowned prosthodontist and educator, as he will focus on prosthetically-driven treatment planning, essential for achieving functional, biological, and esthetic success in implant cases. Dr Esquivel will delve into the complexities of the soft tissue-restorative interface, understanding the crucial role of biology and the importance of interim restorations. He will emphasize material selection, abutment design, and delivery techniques, enhancing predictability in implant therapy. In addition to the lecture, there will be a collaborative treatment planning session with group discussions and collaboration. Dr Esquivel also encourages and fosters a safe learning environment for interaction throughout the program. You will learn systematic approaches to diagnosing, planning, and executing implant cases, making the process more straightforward and less stressful. This session will enhance your skills and ensure the success of your implant therapies.
Objectives:
Identify important considerations for adequate treatment planning in esthetic implant therapy.
Identify the relationship between tooth position, soft tissue, and the prognosis of esthetic implant therapy.
Understand the importance of the different areas of the emergence profile and implement different techniques to condition the soft tissues.
